About Dr. Gutmark

Ron Gutmark, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery at Foothill Eye Institute, which has locations in Pasadena, Glendora, West Covina, Montebello, and Downtown Los Angeles, California. He routinely evaluates patients of all ages and provides adult and pediatric services alike. 

He and his team provide a wide range of vision and eye health treatments, using only the latest and most advanced techniques. 

Dr. Gutmark graduated with honors from Stanford University in Stanford, California, with his undergraduate degree. He then attended medical school at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. While in medical school, he earned a prestigious Doris Duke research fellowship. 

Dr. Gutmark remained at Johns Hopkins for his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Wilmer Eye Institute, also in Baltimore, Maryland. 

After finishing his residency, Dr. Gutmark completed training in cornea and refractive surgery at the Shiley Eye Institute at UC San Diego in San Diego, California. After finishing his own training, Dr. Gutmark was an ophthalmology faculty member at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

At Foothill Eye Institute, Dr. Gutmark performs many of the most advanced surgeries and treatments for eye conditions including corneal cross-linking and LASIK surgery. He also routinely performs traditional and laser cataract surgeries.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Gutmark enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, traveling to new places, cooking, and gardening.
